Ok, it took me a while to get back to RokDownloads. I just got slammed over the last month and a half that I really have not had time to jump on it. Damn that need for real world income! But its amazing how much you can do if you sit down and focus.

As you know we are HUGE proponents of Adobe Fireworks for web design here at RocketTheme and RocketWerx. Following in the tradition of other Adobe public betas like Lightroom, today the beta for CS4's version of Fireworks has been released. It's available for download via the Adobe labs site but you must have your CS3 serial number handy so you can obtain a valid CS4 key to unlock the Fireworks CS4 Beta.

Useful developer tip for QuickLook users

RocketWerx

| Written by Andy | Wednesday, 14 May 2008 04:40

I don't know if your like me, but I really love the QuickLook feature in OS X 10.5 Leopard. It's one of those things that after you've started using it, you can't understand how you ever got along without it before. My workflow and general productivity went up at least 50% when I switched from a PC to a Mac running OS X 10.4 Tiger, and I think 10.5 has helped me get about 10-20% more efficient than that. Basically what QuickLook does for you is when your navigating around your files in Finder, you can click the space-bar and instantly get a preview of that file zoomed-in on your desktop. Of course the caveat behind this is that by default Leopard supports very few formats and all the useful ones us developers want to look at, only show a big version of the icon, which helps me not!

We eat our own dogfood

RocketWerx

| Written by Andy | Wednesday, 14 May 2008 04:30

Well we've got the temporary site up and running. Of course it's running the latest Joomla! 1.5 with 100% native theme, components, plugins, modules, etc. The long-term plan is to move RocketWerx into a sub-section of the overall RocketTheme parent site when the new version of that launches. The benefits of that plan going forward is that we can have much tighter integration for existing club members. We'll be able to offer discounts and upgrades between RocketWerx Pro products and RocketTheme club memberships. This site is providing a bit of a test-bed for our navigation that will be carried with us when we move to the new RocketTheme home some time in the future.
